Welcome to TTB Tamer for Breweries v2.0
Please follow the steps below to make sure migration was successful and to get started.Step 1 – Check out the Orientation Video
The orientation video covers each page of the software in detail and is also bookmarked with chapters.
We recommend that you watch the entire video at least once, and then use the chapter markers to revisit different sections as needed.
Chapter 1 – The Dashboard
Chapter 2 – Make Entries – Using Processes, Linked Entries
Chapter 3 – Batch Split/Combine
Chapter 4 – Entry Log – Filtering, Editing, & Exporting Entries
Chapter 5 – State Reports – Using the Entry Log
Chapter 6 – Batch Accounting
Chapter 7 – Batches Editor
Chapter 8 – Federal Reports – Ops, Excise, & Daily Records
Chapter 9 – Calculators & Settings – Managing Payment Info & Subscription
Step 2 – Check your reporting details
After logging in, navigate to the Federal Reports page and create the first operations report shown as available in 2024.
- If you report Monthly, the report will be labeled
“January 2024“. - If you report Quarterly, the report will be labeled
“Q1 2024“
Then, do the following
-check to make sure the operations report type (form 5130.9 or form 5130.26) is correct. It should match the type of report you’ve already been submitting.
-check that your brewery information in the top header is correct. EIN#, TTB#, Address, etc
If anything seems off, send me an email to let me know. I will get it fixed for you.
-Lastly, check the amounts and balances from the reports generated in v2.0 against the amounts and balances from reports previously submitted. If you typically used Keg and Can size conversion units expect to see a slight difference. This is expected and can be taken care of…just let me know and we’ll get some adjustments made depending on the last report you’ve submitted.
Step 3 – Start using the software
Your entries from Jan 1st to Dec 22nd, 2024, have been migrated into v2.0.
Visit the entry log to see where you left off (hint: sort the Target Date column to see the last entry that was migrated) and continue to make entries using your processes on the Make Entries page.
Need help re-doing your processes or adding something in order to make an entry? No problem! Read the FAQs below about contacting me for help with your processes.

FAQ – v2.0 Brewery Migration
What’s in the shared Google Doc folder?
The shared google doc folder (sent to you with the details on how to log into v2.0) contains all of your past reports and all of your entries ever made in the v1.0 software. Please download all of the information to your local computer for safekeeping if you haven’t already done so.
What was migrated from v1.0 to v2.0?
All account settings & brewery information
All processes you may have created (or had us create for you)
All batch numbers
All entries made between January 1 – December 22, 2024
Why is there a difference in the amounts on the reports I’ve submitted using v1.0 and the amounts reported in v2.0?
TL;DR – The v2.0 software handles rounding different than v1.0. This should reduce the amount of rounding issues seen in the long run.
Want more details? In v1.0 rounding was performed at the report level. In v2.0, rounding is done at the entry level.
Because of this, depending on the number of entries made using conversion factors and the conversion factors used, you should expect to see slight differences in amounts between the reports generated in v1.0 and v2.0.
This is not a big deal and there are a few ways to take care of the problem depending on your preferences. Just reach out and I’ll be able to help get everything adjusted so that the v2.0 reports pick up where the v1.0 reports left off.
Why didn’t you migrate all of our entries instead of entries only made after Jan 1, 2024?
A few reasons:
v2.0 is designed to alleviate the ’rounding issues’ that a lot of users have experienced by slightly changing the way rounding of amounts is done. Because the rounding issues are removed, importing more entries than needed would have made it so that there’s more of a chance of your reports in v2.0 being slightly different than what was produced in v1.0. This would be an unnecessary headache to deal with. You’ve already submitted your past reports.
Importing more data than needed would also affect the speed of your account. We’ll be working on a feature to ‘archive’ reports and data in the coming year, essentially removing the ability to affect past reports and removing the entries associated with those reports. This would prevent accidentally making entries that would affect past reports and prevent your accounts from slowing down from unneeded entries. Why slow your account down with old data? You’ve already submitted your past reports.
If you find the need to make changes to your entries in 2023 or earlier, and need to submit amended reports, let us know and we’ll work to get your earlier entries imported for you.
I used to use the ‘Old Make Entries Page’ to make my entries. What now?
There are two ‘global’ processes that have been imported for you on the Make Entries page that contain typical entries needed for Brewpubs and Production Breweries. If you find that you need to make a type of entry that isn’t currently available let us know. I’m happy to make a quick edit and add the entries that you need.
Processes have changed. How do I create new processes or edit the ones I have?
The v2.0 software is intended to be set up custom instead of leaving it up to you to figure it out on your own.
All of your processes that you created in v1.0 were imported for you to use as well as two ‘global’ processes that contain typical entries needed for Brewpubs and Production Breweries. If you find that you need to make a type of entry that isn’t currently available let us know. I’m happy to make a quick edit and add the entries that you need.
If you want me to completly revamp your processes and create custom processes for you I’m happy to do that! This is very similar to the process we would go through if you started new with the software today but at a VERY REDUCED FEE. This would involve a quick set up call (typically only takes 15 minutes), process creation (I can typically get it done in a day), and then a training call to show you what I put together and make sure it works for you. Please reach out and let me know what you need.
